Walla Crag Pendant
Found Stone | Sapphire | Cubic Zirconia
Perched on the edge of a storm-lashed cliff, the Walla Crag Pendant was born from a moment of pure immersion in the wild. Crafted using my portable jewellery bench under the looming skies of Walla Crag, this piece is an artifact of tension — between earth and sky, stillness and storm, resolve and chaos.
At its core is a stone gathered just metres from where the bench stood, wind howling and rain threatening. This found fragment — raw, weather-worn, and heavy with place — is the pendant’s foundation, grounding the design in the immediate landscape. Beside it sits a sapphire, deep and steady as stormlight, paired with a row of cubic zirconia that cut through the composition like a bolt of clarity — a glint of calm amid the turbulence.
Together, these elements form a composition that is both rugged and refined. The materials are chosen not just for their beauty, but for their story: the stone from the crag itself, the sapphire echoing the depth of the stormy sky, and the zirconia capturing the flicker of lightning against the lake below.
The Walla Crag Pendant is a tribute to the edge — to creating despite the elements, to anchoring oneself in a moment of wildness, and to finding brilliance where others might only see weather.
